Love to Laser Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 April 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how and when I, Love to Laser / LoveToLaser (“I”, “me”, “my”), collect, use and share your personal information when you visit my website, place an order through lovetolaser.co.uk, contact me by email or contact form, sign up to marketing, leave a review, or otherwise use my services.

This Privacy Policy applies to my handling of personal information as the owner of Love to Laser. It does not apply to third parties that I do not own or control, such as Shopify, payment providers, delivery companies, review apps, analytics services or social media platforms. Those third parties may also process your personal information under their own privacy policies.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, I am the data controller of your personal information in relation to my website and services, except where a third party acts as an independent controller.

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • postal and delivery address;
  • billing address, if different;
  • phone number, if provided;
  • order details;
  • product choices and personalisation details, such as names, wording, colours, logos, images or other custom information you provide;
  • messages you send through the website contact form, email or social media;
  • payment information, although full payment card details are processed securely by payment providers and are not stored by me;
  • delivery and tracking information;

Some of this information is provided directly by you, and some may be collected automatically through Shopify, cookies, analytics tools, apps or other services used to operate the website.

Shopify provides information about how it processes personal data for merchants and customers in its own privacy materials, and Shopify also notes that merchants are responsible for reviewing and using GDPR information appropriately for their own stores.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I use your personal information for the following purposes and lawful bases.

To perform my contract with you

I use your information to:

  • make, personalise, pack and dispatch your order;
  • process payment, refunds, cancellations or returns;
  • contact you about your order;
  • provide customer support;
  • send order confirmations, dispatch updates and delivery information;
  • complete custom or personalised requests.

To comply with legal and regulatory obligations

I may use and keep your information where necessary to:

  • meet tax, accounting and business record-keeping requirements;
  • respond to lawful requests from authorities;
  • comply with consumer, product safety or other legal obligations;
  • keep records of transactions and communications where required.

For my legitimate interests

I may use your information for my legitimate business interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights. This may include:

  • running and improving my website and services;
  • keeping business records;
  • preventing fraud or misuse of the website;
  • resolving disputes;
  • responding to customer queries;
  • understanding which products and pages are useful to customers;
  • improving product descriptions, customer experience and website performance;
  • displaying genuine reviews and feedback where you have chosen to provide them.

With your consent

I rely on your consent where required, for example:

  • if you sign up to receive marketing emails;
  • if you agree to non-essential cookies or analytics where consent is required;
  • if you provide photos, logos, images or other content for use beyond fulfilling your order.

You can withdraw consent for marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting me.

I do not add customers to a mailing list unless they have opted in.

Personalisation Details, Images and Logos

Many Love to Laser products are personalised or custom-made. If you provide names, wording, logos, images or other details, I will use that information to make your order and provide customer support.

Please make sure any personalisation details are correct before placing your order. If you send an image, logo or design file, you confirm that you have permission to use it and provide it for the purpose of making your order.

Reviews

If you leave a review on my website or through a review app, I may display your review, star rating, first name, product purchased, review text and any photo you choose to upload.

I may also use review content to help promote Love to Laser products on my website, product pages or marketing materials, unless you ask me not to.

If you would like a review removed or changed, please contact me.

Cookies and Analytics

My website may use cookies and similar technologies to help the website function, improve performance, remember preferences, understand how visitors use the site and support marketing or analytics.

Some cookies are necessary for the website to work, such as cart and checkout functions. Others, such as analytics or marketing cookies, may depend on your consent where required.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through the website cookie banner or preferences tool.

The ICO has guidance on privacy notices and cookies, including what information businesses should provide about cookies and privacy notices.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

I share your personal information only where necessary and only to the extent needed to run my business, operate my website and fulfil your order. This may include sharing information with:

  • Shopify, as the platform used to run my online store;
  • payment providers, such as Shopify Payments, PayPal or other payment services used at checkout;
  • delivery providers, such as Royal Mail, Evri, Parcel2Go or other postal/courier services used for your order;
  • review apps or customer service tools, where used to collect reviews or respond to customer queries;
  • email marketing providers, if you have opted in to receive marketing emails;
  • trusted service providers, such as email, cloud storage, bookkeeping, accounting, analytics, website apps or technical service providers;
  • law enforcement, regulators, courts, HMRC or other authorities, where legally required or where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, protect rights, respond to legal claims or comply with legal obligations;
  • a buyer or successor, in the event of a business sale, merger, restructuring or transfer, to the extent permitted by law.

I do not sell your personal information.

Payment Information

Payments are processed securely by third-party payment providers. I do not receive or store your full card details.

Payment providers may collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies and security procedures.

Data Retention

I keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil orders, provide customer service, comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and enforce my agreements.

Order and related business records may be kept for at least the period required by UK tax and accounting rules, and longer where legally required or where necessary to resolve disputes or protect my legal rights.

The ICO recommends having retention rules that identify types of records, retention periods and what happens at the end of the retention period. HMRC guidance also says that where records must be kept for more than one tax purpose, the longer retention period should be followed.

International Transfers

Some service providers, including Shopify and other apps or technology providers, may process personal information outside the UK.

Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, I rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable legal exemptions, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information I hold about you;
  • receive a copy of your personal information;
  • correct or update your personal information;
  • request deletion of your personal information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • request data portability in some circumstances;
  • withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis for processing;
  • complain to a data protection authority.

To make a privacy request, please contact me at:

info@lovetolaser.co.uk

I may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection authority, or your local data protection authority where applicable.

Children’s Information

My products are often made for children, but my website and services are intended for use by adults.

If you provide a child’s name or other personalisation details, I will use that information only to make and fulfil the order, provide customer support and keep necessary business records.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information and use trusted platforms and service providers to help operate my website and process orders securely.

However, no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please contact me if you have any concerns about your information.
